RoboRex is a 13-foot long metal robot dinosaur where kids can take control of it. They walk up the back and a control panel allows them to make the head and neck articulate in any direction. Also, the mouth opens and closes, and the eyes blink.
Robo was created for the Discovery Centre in Halifax and was meant to augment the exhibit, Sue the T-Rex. While impressive at 42 feet long, the Sue exhibit didn't have a lot of interactivity. Robo was all about interaction.
Kids loved it, and would wait in the long line for their turn. A big hit for the Discovery Centre, because families would return again and again to play with it. Robo was created with the help of Eric Miller. Here is one of the news pieces that featured Robo:
